I have Windows 8 and until a few days ago sound through my HD7970 to the HDTV via HDMI was fine, then the sound stopped working.
Now I have no AMD HDMI Audio option in my Sound Devices. I looked at Device Manager and it was only listed when I clicked "Show Hidden Devices", further more I followed usual protocol and unistalled the AMD HDMI Audio drivers.... bad move.
When I try to reinstall the drivers they do not appear in the CCC installer, no matter what CCC installer version I try. So the PC stopped recognising the existence of the AMD HDMI Audio capability and now it is as if AMD no longer provide any AMD HDMI Audio driver with their CCC installers. I am sure that is not the case and it is just linked to my issue.
(PS. I have unistalled the CCC versions after trying to reinstall and my PC recognises the HDTV, I just cannot reinstall any AMD HDMI Audio drivers because they do no list when installing CCC in versions 13.1, 13.2, 13.3, 134 and 13.6b)
The only changes I made was switching from IDE to AHCI which shouldn't make a difference to the HD7970?
Anybody got any suggestions as to what is going on?
