Here is a Windows 8 thread..on the same issue. It gives three ways to disable/workaround the 'unsigned driver' issue. ARTICLE Maybe it's relevant.

Thanks, found that booting into F8 and 'disable signature enforcement' is doing the trick for Win7

It only appeared for me at the end of the install process. Clicked OK and have never seen it since then. Not even after a reboot. Overdrive seems to work fine.

Sounds like it might just be using the "older" signed driver.

I have a Dual Graphics laptop (7660G + 7670M) and have no Switchable Graphics menu on Windows 7. I had the menu with the first 13.8 beta driver though.

Generic mobility drivers with random laptops are always a hit and miss. That's even written everywhere on the download page. Officially you're supposed to use the drivers provided by the laptop manufacturer, and nothing else.

This appeared while installing the driver (for me) and the Overdrive page is not there in the CCC - that page with the big green/red buttons to disable AMD Overdrive/ graphics overdrive.

Not sure this page has been deliberately removed from the CCC? even after a driver reinstall that page is still missing.

What defines a random laptop? I don't have a Toshiba, Sony, or Panasonic laptop. AMD's mobility checker runs without issue. Almost certain AMD isn't making laptops directly either lol.

Anyway, got it figured out myself. Had to do a pretty throughout driver cleanup (CIM, CCleaner + CCEnhancer, DDU from Wagnard, manual folder removal, manual registry removal). Got switchable graphics working fine now.

Well it also says it doesn't support any laptops with switchable graphics. At least it used to. Did that change?

Yea they took switchable graphics laptops off, but it still says:

AMD Catalyst Mobility is a notebook reference graphics driver with limited support for system vendor specific features. When used with Windows Vista or Windows 7, the user experience may be limited or compromised.

I'm getting stuttering in games since 13.8 beta 1 drivers... beta 2 did not solve it...

13.6 beta was fine just as 13.4 ...

I have a HD 7850 2GB...

If 13.4 was fine but 13.8 Beta1/Beta2 have issues, that points to a driver regression. Alerting the driver team at www.amd.com/betareport is the quickest way to get the required info down to the driver team for investigation.
