Hi,

I've a strange problem, when I access the login screen in Win8 the screen starts to power on/off incessantly, I can see the mouse for a sec and then it power off and on and off and on etc.

So I can't acces my win desktop and I can't access the charm bar to try to boot in safe mode. The only solution is to plug the monitor to the integrated VGA port of my MSI G41m-p33 combo using the intel graphics. I de-installed completely and properly the catalyst suite and reboot but it's still the same. That's weird because when I first plug the Radeon, Windows used it's own drivers and there was no problems. But even after removing the catalyst suite, I'm stuck with the same problem.

I precise that it works fine with xubuntu 13.04 using the propriatary drivers by AMD and It also works fine with OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.4 (yes hackintosh ! BYTW AMD, seriously, develop officials drivers for the Mac, there's a HUGE market!) with both LCD & CRT Monitors and even with Windows 7 Ultimate.

It's not a problem with my config (PSU 550 W, 4 GB RAM, drivers and softwares up-to-date, no Windows other issues).

My config worked fine with an old Nvidia GeForce 6600 GT 128 MB PCI-E.

So I guess that's the catalyst suite the guilty.

Any ideas ? Helps greatly appreciated

TXS !

I think that if you supply system specs as the Sticky "Read Before Posting" discribes, someone on the user forum will assist you.

Have you verified that your BIOS on your motherboard is up todate. There have been issues that others have had that are like what you discribe.

Yes, it's the latest one. Since my original post, I've re-installed Win8 without instaling the Catalyst Suite and it's working like a charm. I don't want to try the AMD drivers since it's OK as it is but I'm wondering if doing so would make a huge difference.

Anyway, I'd like to know what's wrong with the drivers.

Thanx for your replies

I had issues when I upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 8 Pro just wierd things like not waking up and not shutting down. I did a Windows 8 refresh and everything worked fine since then.

I'm currently using 13.6 Beta 2 drivers with no isssues.
