With AMD Radeon HD 7770, Dell Desktop XPS8500, Windows 7 PC,Catalyst Control Center Version 2012.0120.420.7502, Driver Packaging Version 8.932.5.3-120120a-132138C-Dell.  Main monitor Dell 2408, Secondary monitor Dell 1905.

I use Photoshop with a color managed workflow.  I wish to color calibrate each monitor using a Spyder 2 Colorimeter.  How do I configure Catalyst and/or Windows so that each monitor uses the unique calibrated driver that is created during the calibration process?

Right click on the desktop -> screen resolution -> advanced -> color management. There you can set color profiles.

Things to consider:

  • Does your video card support multiple LUT (look-up tables)?
  • Does your Datacolor Spyder2 device support more than just 1 display calibration?
  • You should leave it up to the software provided by Datacolor to apply the .ICM profile to each monitor.

In the past, the Radeon cards did not support more than 1 LUT.  Therefore, only 1 display could be calibrated.  I am looking to get confirmation on this.

My Spyder3 Express only supports the calibration of 1 monitor.

I have a little system-tray icon that represents the little application that runs in the background.  As my OS boots and loads, I can see my monitor change from uncalibrated colours, and then as the .ICM profile is applied by the application it will change.
