I have been using the Denon 1612 AVR for several years now, connected to my 7800 series for over a year with no issues. Last month I purchased a Samsung 50" LED HD. Everything has been working fine, except there was an inch border around the PC display. All other devices completely fill the screen.

So I downloaded the Catalyst software (wasn't using it before) because I saw an article on fixing the border using the overscan feature in the Vision Engine Control Center.

Well, it fixed the borders and now the screen fits to the display.

But now I have no sound. VECC says my Denon 1612 AVR doesn't support audio over HDMI (A complete and utter lie). I've looked online and there is no information on this issue, so here I am.

Thanks for any help...

Looking at the specs of the device, it seems that one of the HDMI ports supports video only. Maybe you plugged the cable to that one this time?

Thanks, but none of the cables were changed.

I just un-installed the AMD Audio driver, and transcoders.

I left the VECC and Display driver.

Everything works as it should now.

Too bad AMD doesn't know that Denon's AVR's are HDMI compatable....
