I uninstalled a Radeon HD 7850 and Catalyst but keep getting a message on boot "The file WBHelp2.dll is missing. The skinning system cannot continue without this file!"

I've looked for everything I can find related to ATI/AMD in Documents and Settings, System32, the registry, but I still keep getting this message.

Any ideas for getting rid of this? There's a removal utility but it doesn't work with XP.

Running XP Pro SP3

Thanks.

This error pops up on XP systems since 2009 and has little to do drivers. I do see most had used Stardocks WindowBlinds, but unless you are that is not it. I would think you should find the offending dll on a registery search.

I would suggest that you try going here.

Try using Autoruns it will show what the system is loading at startup. It shows missing programs, which you can delete.

Thanks. The problem isn't that the dll is there, it's that it's not there and the "ghost" of Catalyst is still looking for it.

I'll take a look at Autoruns.

If your having some issues with that you might have to do a uninstall of your drivers again. The procedure would be different, but after using this tool reload you current CCC.

Read this and give it a try.
