hi guys,

usually new driver versions mean a better version of the driver or promise more performance. but theres one strange issue i ran into and i found nothing so far yet on the internet, but i cant imagine im the only one having it.

the last amd catalyst driver i can use properly is the 13.4 driver as well for a hd5700 as a hd7950. any other driver starting from 13.6 beta 2 onwards will give horrible performance in all kind of games and i just cannot understand whats the reason why. its kinda sad coz im unable to use any newer driver than 13.4 at the moment.

when installing any other driver newer than 13.4 / 13.6 beta 2 my performance will drop like 90% in games and even there are many bugs and glitches appearing. i tried everything from cleaning drivers to completely new os´s and pc hardware. btw im using win7 pro 64bit and something tells me the issues are due to windows 8 support or anything, but im using the proper drivers for win7 64.

just what the hell did amd do to these drivers?

Probably not related to your issue (but strange things can happen)...  but that PSU with an FX CPU, a 5770 AND a 7950 seems a tad borderline to me.

Conservatively guessing at some of your other components (2 HDD's, 2 120mm fans, 2 USB devices, 1 DVD-ROM, 2 RAM DIMMs) and a very conservative 20% capacitor aging...  this is the results from my PSU calculator:

As I said, might not be an issue, but a stressed PSU can do all kinds of weird things to your system.

btw...  if you want to fill in the data yourself, here is the link:

juker glad you can read and don't need any assistance. But I wouldn't expect to much performance with that CF configuration. That PSU is weak but of course you know best.

FWIW, the last driver I can use is 13.4 on 7990 cards.  Everything above uses GPU like crazy when idling.

jukeNukem, I cleaned up a post of your's, and also deleted a few of yours that added absolutely no value to the thread.

Individuals in this thread are merely trying to offer assistance.  You may not agree with their suggestions (your are even welcome to voice that opinion), but not in the manner you are doing it.

Simply put: if you keep going as you are, I'll lock the thread.
