I have a problem with my new R7 260X Card.

All works fine until i install Catalyst 13.11b7 (same with beta6).

After installing and restarting system, i get a black screen when the desktop should appear. Windows loading animation shows up normal.

Safemode works, but thats no help.

I used a fresh Windows 7 SP1 x64 with all mainboard drivers installed.

My System:

Club 3D Royal King Radeon R7 260X

ASUS Maximus VI Hero (BIOS 0804)

Intel i4771

500W Super Flower Golden Silent

I tested 3 Monitors (DVI), all with the same result.

To test the system with another card, I used a HIS Radeon HD5570 with Catalyst 13.9 and it worked fine.

Maybe someone can help me?

It might be a faulty card. You know, those always happen...

Try your card in another computer. If it works, get your motherboard issue fixed. If it doesn't, RMA it and get a different one.

Note: Not having drivers installed and safe mode mean nothing. In those circumstances your card is just a pass-through between the CPU and the monitro. No work is done by the GPU without using drivers.

No, I think its general

I've had same problem with my MSI 260x

Got frustrated like hell, wasting 5 hours trying everything but the drivers. BVut it was the drivers.

Currently I am running on the drivers provided by MSI .. which I think are at most beta3.

SO the behavior is > driver resets in idle randomly

Driver resets or Bsod when entering a 3d application 100% > probably full load.

CUrrently I am too spent to keep testing the issues. But its not my job to do so. Please guys fix these issues.

I am worried about using AB also. This experience made me scared of trying to OC..

You're still on the community forum and drivers are still not open source, so we can't fix them, sorry. Report to AMD instead.

Like Eydee suggested please report the problem via the AMD Issue Reporting Form found at the bottom of the Beta download page.

Your fellow user are here to help you find work arounds, but sometimes even that will not help.
