Catalyst is proprietary, you'll need to talk to AMD about it. We can't do ***** about fixing issues or supporting operating systems. We only have the open source radeon drivers, but those are *nix-only. I'd suggest switching but 7k support is not good enough yet.

By the way, English isn't my native language either, still I can use punctuation.

il need to talk to amd about it?!?!

i was direct linked into this forum from the amd site. so i suggest that this forum is the official one.

i dont care what you are talking about open source radeon drivers. catalyst is the only source for drivers for amd/ati. so do your job and give us the right support!

well as like me with vista , i'm finding out that it seems AMD don't want to support vista anymore. was looking at the new fm2+ boards and there are no vista drivers  and limited support on the older fm boards . but theres full support for XP,7,8and 8.1 go figure.  and when you read the release notes for your vid card driver theres nothing in there for any vista  whats next no support for anything but the latest windows OS?

If I have to choose between proper linux support vs vista support I'd choose linux anytime. And that is what seems to be happening.

and if I choose between nvidia/ intel and amd ...I know now which one to choose...always had amd CPU's and amd/Nvidia gpu's in my builds...

if they abandon a fully operational and MS supported OS then I won't use them again....know it does matter a hoot to amd-

BUT could be just delayed ???

At this time, I can't offer any official YES/NO answer to the question of: "Is AMD going to offer an updated Windows Vista driver?"  However, I would suggest that such a decision is never made without full consideration.

Voicing your concern to see an updated driver by creating a thread is a good idea.  The more that do (or post to this thread) the better.  However, I'd encourage all to remain professional in their posts.  Bashing community members and/or making demands of anyone is not at all constructive.

I would not expect AMD to release any more Vista drivers because of the simple fact that very few desktops run Vista. Total worldwide market share of Vista is less than 6%, and that counts office computers and laptops which do not need the latest drivers. It is always POSSIBLE, but I would highly suggest you upgrade to Windows 7. And don't say it is to expensive, you spent $60 on Battlefield 4, whereas Windows 7 Home x64 is only $99.99.

well its like what was said if this is the way amd is going to be for support i can start to do with out them. its like i said support for XP and 7 but not vista?? and there's more than likely more vista users then you think. vista is still fully supported as 7  i run it on 2 rigs with no issues till now. and then as u  stated  Is AMD going to offer an updated Windows Vista driver? you dont have to fine with me nividia and them blueguys sell right next to amd's stuff. up intill i noticed that i was not being supported and my old 590sli board bit the dust that i went to am3+ and have been disapointed with that them blueguys are looking better .  i never dreamed that i would concider that but thinking what support will you drop next for somthing i use thats amd? what realy got me going on this was when i looked at the fm2+ boards and seen there again full XP,7,8,8.1 support but no vista.  as of today amd's stock is way down. then someone talked linux . i got 2 rigs with linux drives on then and the hardware thing is plug and play over jackin with linux for an hour to get it going windows any day.

P.S were did you get that 6% market share  ? i dont recall being asked what OS i'm useing by anybody that i can rember . and sure XP got a bigger market share due to the fack it still a good office OS . and about that 60$ on a game that runs well on vista.  as if you were sayin that when i buy a game i also need to buy the latest copy of windows ? and were are you getting tht full retail windows for 99$ ?  its foolish not to go full retail and keep loading it up build after build right ?? i've used my copy 4 times now.  at 99$ oem thats 400$ at the time this full retail with 32&64 bit disks was 245$,   but if amd has just got lazy and want to single folks out cool i'll just know better next build.  cant see spending hundreds on software that my just get droped .   and realy what can you do with XP nowadays? ya it works good for its time but what will it do dx11 if you put the lastest game on it will you get to max it out most of my newer games wount eaven loadf more or less play on my XP rig but yet its fully supported by amd on there latest stuff. and yet vista that will run the games or bench no problom, is not supported. go figure.

This article written back in June, for one.

I hardly think Vista market share has grown since then. And AMD stopped supporting Windows XP months ago.

realy, lets look at the chart. stright lines means to me  stable use across the board. so that shows me thats 6% is a non issue and vista users are holding well with just a 1 1/2 % drop  ya lets through these guys to the curb. xp 5% drop

now lets look at XP and the a88x chipset  for the yet to come fm2+  go to any vender asrock giga whoever and check chipset drivers ... well what do you know full XP support but no vista  so whos going to pay and build that board and use XP?? i would with vista due that it will handle my newest games but yet no support so no sale . then i guess them office rigs needs the best new support for them wordpad apps right. and this company i work for with all these XP rigs would not replace or upgrade them unless it got stolen and then they would go to the used computer store for one just like it .

now  lets face it that xp market share on your chart is more than likely all them office rigs still going.  i got an xp rig right here but its far from my everyday gaming rig but it is what it is,  but i cant run my newest games with it like they should be played with all turned up and eyecandy, but my vista rig will. i never ran anything but amd from my first socket a board with the hot 8x apg slot till now with this crap am3+ rig i got now,  but its the first time i'm looking toward the blueguys.  its good to know that amd thinks i should go and spend 100's of my hard earned money to keep there stuff going  over a driver. whats windows 7 just a streamedlined vista.  but they cant do a driver for it . just lazy.

Not lazy. It's a business decision. It's probably not worth bothering with Vista anymore. You shouldn't either, or just stick to Vista era games, which will work fine with existing drivers.
