Hello

I have a question about drivers for 2 different generations of cards in same pc.

Is there a way how to properly install drivers and both graphic cards would be running?

If i install driver 12.6, 12.8 or 13.1 only 4870x2 is recognized (first slot in motherboard), but 5850 is recognized as Standard VGA Display Adapter. Sometimes when installing driver i see 5850 as 5800 in GPU-z but i can not use it, because PC does not get GPU/MEM or any other data of 5850 graphic card.

with latest drivers 13.9+ 4870x2 does not work anymore.

Please help! i have been searching for solution for 3 days now, installing driver, mounting graphic cards in and  out.

The HD 4870x2 is a legacy card, while the HD 5850 is not. You can't use them in the same system without using very old drivers.

Find the last driver that was released before the legacy fork was made. That should work with both cards, but you'll never be able to update anymore.

I wonder why you need both. If for driving multiple monitors, the 5850 by itself should be enough for at least 3 of them.

The 5k series were released in 2009 if I'm not mistaken. That means that some 9.x, all 10.x, all 11.x and some 12.x (until 12.4 or 12.5) should work. Try to find the latest of them and stick to it.
