Here is my system and CCC information:

Driver Packaging Version:  12.104-130328a-159787C-ATI

Catalyst Version: 13.4

Provider:  Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.

2D Driver Version:  8.01.01.1295

2D Driver File Path: /REGISTRY/MACHINE/SYSTEM/ControlSet001/Control/CLASS/{4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}/0002

Direct 3D Version: 9.14.10.0969

OpenGL Version 6.14.10.12217

Catalyst Control Center Version 2013.0328.2218.38225

Here is system info:

OS Name Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium

Version 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601

System Type x64-based PC
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU         760  @ 2.80GHz, 2807 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s)
BIOS Version/Date Alienware A04, 6/28/2010
SMBIOS Version 2.6
When I installed the above CCC version and drivers, I did not uninstall the original one.  All is working fine.  I want to update to 13-9, but when I tried to uninstall this one, it is not listed in my list of programs under control panel, per your posted article.  I then tried the second method under page key token, and the listed numbers are not in that list.  Is there a way to manually uninstall CCC and the drivers, so I can install the new version.  As a side note, I tried to install the new version over the version I now have, and it hangs up at "Generating source media for installable packages".  I am at a loss at how to proceed here.  Please help!
I do have the correct Microsoft Net Framework installed and the C++ libraries.  Thank you.

Use this version of Driver Sweeper (do not select 'newer version available)...select AMD graphics and delete all it finds (it is slow, be patient). Reboot. Install new driver. Reboot.

Thank you for your reply.  I did as you said, and the new Catalyst Install Manager is still hanging up at the same spot as described above.  Any other ideas?

Reinstalling the OS always helps unless you have a hardware issue.

OK, I restored my computer to an earlier time.  I then used the supplied cleaner provided above, and removed all the listed AMD Display entries.  I then tried to install the new 13.9 package.  It almost completed, but then hung up on this:  Currently installing:  AMD Media Foundation transcoders.   Any idea why that is happening?  I let it sit like that for over 20 minutes, with the progress bars not moving.  Any other ideas?

Registry corruption probably. However, you don't need that component, so just untick it and install the important things only.

Still couldn't get it to work.  Uninstalled the remnants, and installed version 13.1, and it went flawlessly.  My system must not be able to accept 13.9 for some reason.  Happy now, though.
