Hey guys, this is my first EVER post here in the AMD fourms, so please bear with me. I haven't really had any issues installing 13.12, but I just had a question about the process.

For the past month, I have been using the beta drivers and I perfer to always make a clean install for a driver update.

I was wondering what happened to the AMD uninstall utility? did AMD stop updating the utility?

I am sorry if I am asking a question that has already been answered or is ment to be a part of a diffrent thread.

Just want to thank ATInerb1 for his helpful post. It seems to me that a little more of this willingness to help would be appreciated. Rather than belittling people for not knowing how to solve their issues, or for breaking that most cherished rule,"use the search, don't ask for help" We should all be willing to help each other. That is what "help" forums are for. Too bad so many of the long time members of this forum prefer to dish out abuse and insults rather than assistance. Not everyone has the experience or know how to solve tings alone. It is refreshing to see someone willing to help here. Thanks again ATInerb1.

thats so much overkill if ur playing at 1920 res

try limiting ur framerate to 40 so the card doesn't spend itself

on a different note, why buy a great card and wait 4 years to upgrade it.. thats boring. I always buy the borderlines, so I can feel the tweaks and configurations of each game and I can enjoy upgrading my hw more often

Yeah... If only people knew how to ask for help... But how would you know that? You really are a great help for the community with your 12 posts most of which are buried in the archive. I may be an a**hole but I helped out hundreds, maybe thousands of people here. Other long time members as well, even mister copy-paste is more useful than your "let's pretend we are the wisest and kindest" know-it-all post.

Has anyone posted these issues on the "Catalyst Creator's' blog? He says he welcomes and reads all issues and comments. Just a thought.

Andrew D @CatalystCreator 18 Dec

AMD Catalyst 13.12 WHQL for Windows and Linux drivers are now available - basically they're the WHQL version of the 13.11 Beta V9.5 drivers

I installed 13.12 for 4 times, I got 3 version numbers after each install, 12.8, 13.1, 13.4 and 13.11, very funny...

I think editing the registry to change driver version from 13.11 to 13.12 is a bad idea, what happens when the real 13.12 comes along? Editing the registry to install a WHQL driver is pretty crazy.

Has anyone noticed that the AMD 13.12 download specifies:
Display Driver ver. 13.251
OpenCL(tm) Driver ver. 10.0.1348.5 <- I assume that's OpenGL, not OpenCL
Catalyst Control Center ver. 2013.1206.1602.28764

But what is actually installed is:
Display Driver ver. 13.11
OpenGL(tm) Driver ver. 6.14.10.12618
Catalyst Control Center ver. 2013.1206.1603.28764

I'm getting wierd sound issues in eyefinity games (Skyrim and Battlefield bad company 2 using crossfire) and I hve to turn 'Use Graphics Processor' off in Photoshop otherwise I get huge lag when trying to paint (I'm professional graphic artist). But can't really start to try and solve the problem if I'm not even sure if I have the latest drivers.

Since it is 13.12 "WHQL"...shouldn't be an issue.  New drivers will most likely be numbered with a 14.xx, etc.

I have an issue with current (13.12) drivers and R9 280X.
There are frequent driver recoveries (TDR) in such games as "League of Legends" and "Counter-Strike: Source". Sometimes driver can't do recovery and system reboots.
I tested my PC with such tests as Memtest, FurMark, Unigine Valley & Heaven - all tests are stable.
OS: Windows 8.1 Pro x64

If you were experiencing this issue, I would reccommend you re-download and install the Catalyst 13.12 driver from our web site. The driver was updated to fix this issue over the holidays.
