Hello AMD driver engineering.

I am using an HP HPE 1360T Desktop (12 GB Ram) with a HP 7770, Ghz edition card with 2 GB onboard video ram.

I was advised by email of the new driver (Catalyst Suite) and downloaded it form your website. No mistakes in selection .

OS is Windows 7 Home Premium x64. CPU is a I7-3770.

Cleanly uninstalled the former drivers (13.9) (the AMD way) and installed 13.12 - system blue screened very fast upon reboot and I noticed something about a .SYS file related to the graphics driver, before it flew by.

I spent *HOURS* trying every permutation on clean uninstall and reinstall of the 13.12. Finally, by chance, got it to install without the HDMI part of the Catalyst Suite, with an Amber Checkmark signifying completion with an error. Everything said success except for the HDMI audio part.

Removed the whole 13.12 suite again and reverted to the 13.9 previous Catalyst Suite with no problems. Something very wrong with this new driver.

See this post -

http://forums.amd.com/game/messageview.cfm?catid=454&threadid=170326&enterthread=y

I have had to re-install AMD drivers for this card in the past with an occasional blue screen, but all worked OK in the end. This time, it's crazy.

Horrible experience. Why the Blue Screens?

Your urgent attention to this matter would be greatly appreciated!

AMD reply requested.

TIA,

Flavio_C

Try this DDU and then try installing of what ever version of CCC you want.

Hi WMudrockJr,

I appreciate your feedback and link, but I feel a bit uncomfortable installing this unknown piece of software that is not sanctioned by AMD.

Could you please tell me how it would correct my problem with 13.12?

Cheers,

Flavio _C

Use the AMD Catalyst Uninstaller (search for it), reinstall 13.9, and leave it alone.

Uninstall the old AMD drivers and software using your computer control panel "uninstall a program". Locate 'AMD install manager'..use "Express uninstall all AMD software' including the installer. Reboot. Install the driver suite you have downloaded from here  http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/downloads.aspx
Do not use the 'auto detect and install' utility. Reboot. You should be good to go.

Hi stumped -

Here is the original email ink from AMD, where I dowloaded the Suite from:

http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/AMDCatalyst13-12WINReleaseNotes.aspx

Isn't your site basically the same?

BTW - Using AMD's recommendations for uninstall/install.

Did it exactly the way you said.

No luck. Blue Screen upon reboot (as my original post) and NO HDMI audio.

Went back to 13.9

Thanks,

Flavio_C

I have the exact same problem with the new 13.12 drivers. Getting blue screen on startup with an ATIKMDAG.sys message. Sticking with 13.9 drivers for now. I read they have had this problem before with a previous driver in the past and they fixed that problem(read this http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/13-xx-Error-Catalyst-970-chipset-Crossfire.aspx). Lets hope they can find a solution for this aswell.

System specs:

asus maximus VI hero
intel i7 4770k
Asus r9 280x direct CU2 top
Asus hd 7970 direct cu2 top
8gb crucial ballistiks sport
Samsung EVO 250gb
corsair hx850 power supply
LG IPS 277l - BN with hdmi cable

All with the latest drivers

Also reported with the issue submit form

I have an ATI Radeon HD 7570 card.

I am using a driver dated 4/25/2012.

I tried updating my driver/software to the current version of 13.12 but the old driver still stays there. In addition, not all components install.

the new CCC doesn't install. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling (using driver sweeper, ccleaner, etc...)

Am I deluding myself to thinking there is a driver newer than this one I am using dated 4/25/2012 ?

Hello again,

I have not received any email reply from AMD regarding this issue.

Is this problem even being addressed?

It would be appreciated if someone from AMD can reply in this thread.

Thank you.

I'm not aware of AMD having email support, so no surprise you didn't get an answer wherever you submitted your address. See the "Contact AMD" link on the bottom of the page. That's your starting point. Don't expect staff responses here either, they only moderate and sometimes submit template responses that make AMD look better. Real support is not done here.

Hi Eydee,

This is when I submitted the report (twice!)

http://www.amdsurveys.com/se.ashx?s=5A1E27D25AD12B4F

Does anyone from AMD read it and posts on the forum???

Do I need to call corporate HQ?

How do they support these drivers?

Flavio

They collect data through that survey, but never reply, as said on the survey page. If you need a reply, contact the support department.

@ "Ray@AMD"

Why PM just him, when a 1000 other people are having the exact same issue with the drivers?

It seems a little counterproductive. I have had a thread open for almost two weeks and no response from AMD. For a Support Forum, there isn't much support happening.

This forum provides a platform for peer to peer support.

If you are looking for one on one support from an AMD technician, then I would recommend you open a support ticket where an AMD agent will respond to your issue.

You can open a support ticket from the following link :
