I have an external Asus Monitor VN247H 24" and an AD Radeon HD 7500M/7600M Graphics card. Everything looked great in Windows 8. Following today's upgrade to Windows 8.1, I had black bands around the outside of the display. I downloaded Catalyst Control Center and in "my digital flat-panels" changed the scaling options to overscan 0%. Now the black bars have gone but the fonts are all a bit fuzzy, as though out of focus.

I'd be really grateful for any suggestions as to a solution.

Many thanks

Use the native resolution of the display. If it's connected through HDMI, make sure you select a pixel format the display likes.
