Hello!

I have a Saphire Radeon HD6950 with 2x DVI, 1x HDMI, 1x DisplayPort. I have a monitor plugged in to each port and tries to extend my desktop over all four displays. I have succesfully extended it to three of them but when I chose the fourth in Catalyst Control Center it tells me that one of the displays need to be disabled to extend to the new monitor.

According to http://support.amd.com/en-us/search/faq/151 my graphicscard should support 6 displays if there are enough ports.

Is there any special setup I need to make to do this or what can be the problem?

thank you in advance

Two displays can be VGA, DVI, or HDMI, and the rest must be DisplayPort.

Alright, thank you for the fast answer!

The output is Displayport 1.2, is it possible to connect 2 monitors to that single port? What do I need, a special cabel or do I need some kind of displayport splitter?
