We have a discussion thread open on this driver right here. This driver was released by AMD today. The driver supports all modern APUs (this driver was released for the new Kaveri A10 and A18 APUs) yet it also supported FireGL and Radeon graphics cards making this a very new driver for pretty much anything with an AMD logo on it.

Build Info:

Looks like a major package that goes to the OEMs. I'll stick with 13.11.

They work great. Be aware that the version number will be the same number as the driver suite you replaced...just like 13.12whql. One thing has been added, the 'issue report form" is now "Problem Report Wizard" and has a link in the tray icon...could be useful.

As long as it's not a security risk like the Auto Update feature.

Well they have a "Check for driver updates" but I don't remember if that has always been there. No there is no "automatic" checking....thank God.

I'd settle for a custom fan speed curve feature so I could stop having to use MSI Afterburner. And for them to fix that bug where in VECC occasionally the entire interface will go black.

Mixed reviews on Guru3d...some have had problems; some no benefit; some very pleased with the drivers.

Anyone have experience with these drivers, yet?

UPDATE:  No installation issues or performance issues so far...Only tested on ARMA 3 and Dystopia, but am curious if any benefit in CF for COD Ghosts which performed poorly in CF...

Next drivers are the BETA 13.35's, coming end of this month, and are the Mantle drivers.

Quote:
AMD is preparing new software updates for their latest generation of APUs and GPUs in January beginning with the Catalyst 13.35 BETA Driver which is scheduled for launch at the end of January. The Catalyst 13.35 BETA will add support for HSA and Mantle and the drivers would get even better in late Q1 2014 with the arrival of AMD?s recently revealed Catalyst 14.1 BETA.

AMD Catalyst 13.35 BETA Driver With Mantle and HSA Support Scheduled For End of January

The Catalyst 13.35 Driver will feature support for various new technologies which include proper support for the Kaveri APUs by fully unleashing support of the Mantle API, Dual Graphics Frame Pacing, HSA feature and AMD?s TrueAudio technology. In addition to that, the new Catalyst will also come with a new UI and an auto-update feature which will notify users of the latest WHQL certified and BETA drivers so that their PCs don?t remain out-dated. Another important tool will automatically detect the device ID and provide users with correct drivers and profile packages making sure you don?t use a mobility driver for your desktop graphics card.

The new driver aims to further enhance frame rendered across multiple graphic cards in CrossFireX or Dual graphics configuration to be displaye at an even and regular pace. The frame pacing solution would also be expanded over to the Kaveri APUs with a new Kaveri beta support driver available by the end of January followed by a WHQL version month later. This is great news considering those who are getting Kaveri APU at launch three days from now won?t have to wait too long for a new Catalyst driver to enhance their gaming experience whether their running the APU in standalone mode with the onboard Radeon R7 series graphics or in dual-graphics configuration.

Drivers for Kaveri is still immature at this state and the following performance graph from AMD shows off the difference the Catalyst 13.35 driver makes in Tomb Raider. Mantle API would further leverage performance for these APUs and a setup of AMD?s A10-7850K and Radeon R9 290X will deliver upto 45% improvement over the DirectX API. You can check out the frame pacing feature performance chart below, notice that the performance is beging compared against an OlandXT (with old drivers) versus an OlandXT with new drivers (OlandXT is the chip fused inside AMD?s R7 250 graphics card and is one of only two cards which offer dual graphics compatibility with the Kaveri APUs):
1. 13.30, 13.35 are internal names not public release names. A driver that is released this month, for example, would be 14.1 as per normal.

CrossfireX is non-functional in COD Ghosts at any resolution or optimal video settings on my system...would not recommend using these drivers for that game.

Submitted Problem Report Wizard.

works nicely and improved graphics detail for me.

However, uncompressed it's a 954MB and that's a bit of wasting download  bandwidth ..

Yea, it's not like nVidia cards ever have driver issues either.

But will it fix this lovely startup bug I'm getting plenty of times with my 270X?

I doubt it.

Maybe, but posting a screenshot does not tell us anything about the hardware, software decisions YOU have made in your build!

"Reports all over the web indicate that AMD's next Catalyst driver, Catalyst 14.1 Beta, will carry the Mantle API. Based on the numbering of this driver, it is due for release sometime later this month. So far we've heard great things about Mantle, but never have seen it in action.

Mantle is an API that is intended to rival Direct3D and OpenGL, and while it's optimized for the Graphics Core Next architecture, it allows much more direct access to the hardware, allowing significant performance improvements. A recent slide leak shows that Battlefield 4 will have a performance improvement of up to 45 percent. The corner of the slide shows that this was observed on a system running with an AMD A10-7850K Kaveri APU along with an AMD Radeon R9 290X graphics card. "

Good thing Mantle has nothing to do with fake currency mining...Could you imagine if that was made any easier?

Heard directly from AMD that the 13.30 drivers was specifically for Kaveri APUs.  Hopefully the 14.1 drivers will address some of the concerns those of us with cobwebbed processors and gpus.  For me, BF4 performance already exceeded my expectations in CF, but, have uninstalled it; COD: Ghosts did not as it barely ran on Crossfire.
