People say that Mantle offloads the processor and that is true, but if there is more powerful CPU then worse the results should be. This is not true, right? Correct me if I'm wrong.

I have most powerfull CPU for Battlefield 4 (4670k) with 7870 2GB or older one 7850 1GB and my benhmarks on Mantle are not good. I mean they are not even equals with dx11.

For me mantle lower GPU performance over 2 generation. Maybe I should know about something? like there is no optimization for HD7000 series yet or maybe there is something wrong with my configuration?

My tests on Poligon 7870

DX11 High settings 120fps

Mantle High settings 80fps

Poligon 7850

DX11 medium settings 120

Mantle medium settings 90

Paracel storm map 64 players full vsync on 7870

Dx11 high 52-60

Mantle high 30-60 with a lot of stuttering

Paracel storm same map vsync on 7850

Dx11 medium stable 60

Mantle 30-60 with a lot of stuttering

Meanwhile, I noticed that on Mantle when changing graphics options something strange going on with my graphics card clocks

That's because AMD said that users of the HD 7800/7900 series and their rebrands would not see much, if any, benefit from Mantle at this time because it was not focused for those cards.

Can I see link with that information?

In battlelog forum they doesn't say about that it is only for  290x 7970 or kaveri

They even state it will be worse. Check the 14.1 download page and read the known issues section.

Known Issues

Mantle performance for the AMD Radeontm HD 7000/HD 8000 Series GPUs and AMD Radeontm R9 280X and R9 270X GPUs will be optimized for BattleField 4tm in future AMD Catalysttm releases. These products will see limited gains in BattleField 4tm and AMD is currently investigating optimizations for them.
Multi-GPU support under DirectX® and Mantle will be added to StarSwarm in a future application patch
Intermittent stuttering or stability issues may occur when utilizing Mantle with AMD CrossFiretm technology in BattleField 4tm - AMD recommends using the DirectX code path when playing Battlefield 4 with multiple GPUs. A future AMD Catalyst release will resolve these issues
Notebooks based on AMD Enduro or PowerXpresstm technologies are currently not supported by the Mantle codepath in Battlefield 4tm
AMD Eyefinity configurations utilizing portrait display orientations are currently not supported by the Mantle codepath in Battlefield 4tm
AMD Eyefinity technology is not currently supported in the Star Swarm? application
AMD testing for the AMD Catalysttm 14.1 Beta Mantle driver has been concentrated on the following products: AMD Radeontm R9 290X, R9 290, R9 280, R9 270, R7 260X, R7 260, HD 7000 Series, HD 8000 Series, A10-7850K and A10-7700K. Future AMD Catalysttm releases will include full test coverage for all AMD products supported by Mantle.
Graphics hardware in the AMD A10-7850K and A10-7700K may override the presence of a discrete GPU under the Mantle code path in Battlefield 4tm
Frame Pacing for Dual Graphics and non-XDMA configurations above 2560x1600 do not currently work with Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4. An upcoming release will enable support
DX9 Dual graphics is not supported in AMD Catalyst 14.1 Beta. An upcoming release will enable support

Liar ;]

I know people who have 270X and other people have same card as mine (7870) with much better performance. So how you gonna explain this ? :]

They cheating with fps boost?

Ok thanks for you time guys

I just have hope They gonna update drivers for other cards soon as possible.

In my opinion drivers should be finished for all GCN cards when patch came for game, becouse they had enought time to do that when DICE hold new patches for game before they fix firstly all bugs etc.

It's not like BF4 hasn't got a ton of bugs anyway...

Yea, I am still using 13.9 and I was really excited to get the Mantle support for BF4, not only because I thought it would breath extra life into my 7850, but unlike alot of people here...I'm not upset at the fact that I may have to wait longer for it to really benefit theHD7000 series.

Plus...since I never bother with Beta Drivers anyways, I'm trying to be patient.

I'm also reading that if you have a really decent CPU, Mantle may or may not make much of a difference.

I currently have the i5-2500K @ 4200, 8 gig @1866 ram and the 7850 1 gig OC. All games are pretty decent and even BF4 SP game seems to top out at 60fps under Custom settings...almost everything is on high, some ultra, post - Medium.

So while at first I thought Mantle would boost gaming for the SP experience, I'm leaning towards it may not make a difference at any point in time.  I'm not positive but since it's not going to be soon, I might as well just wait until Thief comes out to test out Mantle... BF4 isn't on the top of my priority list since I don't play MP.
