Hi.

I just installed the new 14.01 on my R9 290 using Win 8.1 64 bit.

Driver works fine, games run amazing and mantle is fantastic.

My only issue is that the mouse cursor is completely over-sized compared to how it should be @ 1920x1080. Is like the cursor itself is at a 640x480 resolution while the rest is ok. I tried un-installing the driver and the cursor when back to the normal size. Re-installing them cursor went BIG again.

Anyone had similar issue or know a way around it?

Thanks in advance.

Old issue, it goes back to 10 years ago. Usually a motherboard BIOS update fixes it.

Still the same. I also formatted today and the problem persist, even with the 13.12. So must be the R9 290... lovely. I hope the next driver will fix it this issue.

There is lots of people that have this problem, I have it to on my HD 7790.

AMD knows this problem from year, and there's still no solution.

You can turn on Magnifier tool, and set view to full screen, and zoom 100%

This tool need to be turn on all the time.

Got the same problem here- Radeon R9 290. Cursor appears comically large and low res. For me whenever my computer goes into sleep mode when I wake it up the cursor is normal sized again. Going into sleep must disable whatever faulty script in the AMD drivers is causing it.

Also for me, playing certain games enlarges the mouse again but problem is very intermittent. e.g. I play KSP and mouse is fine but I play Space Engineers and afterwards the cursor is big again.

Sidenote: ***** AMD and their *****drivers and customer support system, should have got a GTX 780 instead.

Same problem here

I just built my new rig yesterday (all parts are new, fresh install of Windows 8.1, motherboard updated with the last bios) and everything was just fine until I install the last "stable" Catalyst (v13.12) directly downloaded from the AMD's site.

The installation was going OK when sudenly the pointer of the mouse grew enormous

I tried everything I could but I didn't manage to fix the problem.

What's weird is, just like Coletrain424, when I put my computer to sleep mode and when it wakes up, the size of the cursor is normal. I also once noticed the cursor taking its normal size when Windows was shutting down.

What is worth mentionning is that my display is a Samsung 1080p HDTV plugged tu nmy PC through HDMI (I don't use another display).

I also tried to find a solution on the net but without any success. What worries me is it's not a new problem and a lot of people suffer from the same problem. I've been a long time user of ATI video cards and it had never happened before :-/

My PC:

Sapphire R9 290 Tri-X OC

Asrock Z87E-ITX

I7 4770

Windows 8.1

Capatyst v13.12

getting this as well with my new ASUS 290x. Just installed the drivers off the CD that came in the box, and what do you know, the thing screwed up my mouse pointer.

Turning on the pointer shadow kinda fixes it in the general screen, but when i drag an item or play sertain games, the thing comes up HUGE.

I did some digging and found that some people have fixed the problem by messing with their monitors plug and play driver. I tried this and increased the screen size the driver picks up( picks it up as only 7" for some reason, nothing worked.

Running out of ideas here. Just got the card and i have a 30 days to return it. Gonna go with nvidia if no fix is presented soon. This is very unacceptable.
