I installed the 14.1 beta as per instruction. It seemed to work but I was noticing occasionally blue screens from the AMd driver, and also some corruption on overlays on Web Browsers at times. I also could not open the Catalyst Control Center- you would the blue swirling wait circle for about 15 seconds and then nothing.

So I did the Express Uninstall of everything - and reinstalled the 13.12 drivers - still I could not open Catalyst Control Application. I have literally express uninstalled as per the AMD procedure and reinstalled a dozen times with no success. I currently have the 14.1 beta installed.

Previously I had 13.12 installed on Windows 8.1, Intel 4770k with an brand MSI 290x video card, and everything was ok. I have also noticed that the Catalyst Control Centre app would remain in the right click pop menu from the desktop even after the express install.

In my multiple monitor I cannot adjust the secondary monitor parameters without opening the Catalyst Control Center so I am not too happy know about the state with my new expensive video card - pretty sad state this software is in so what can I do about it?

I just noticed there are several error messages in the event log when trying to open the Catalyst Control Centre. These error messages occur every time you try to open CCC.

This the first error which is an application error in CLI.exe:

The form is to report issues...not to have a dialog with AMD.

Submitting a bug report to AMD won't get you a response from them. This is a BETA driver and no support is/will be given. This is a peer forum where we all try to tinker with and sort out issues. It serves it's purpose just fine.

If you cannot figure out your BETA drivers, please revert back to your WHQL Drivers and wait until the next WHQL release before upgrading. Beta drivers AREN'T for everyone and may not work on all combinations of hardware. Your $600 card works just fine, the BETA drivers just seem to have an issue with your configuration.

That said, are you overclocked at all? Have you tried installing .net framework again seperately? Have you tried deleting the drivers with a full cleaner like DDU and installing clean? What are the rest of your specs? We may be able to help you. Just don't demand it, or expect help with BETA drivers. Also don't be such a drama queen Dave, your card works just fine.

Exactly is which I posted here. I tried going back - exact same issue now - it worked fine before installing the beta so that didn't work.

Nothing is overclocked. I will try DDU.

Right, DDU is always your best bet. Gives you a nice clean starting point. Are you going to try 14.1 BETA again or revert back to 13.12. If you are going for the BETA I will help if I can. I am just sitting here overclocking the hell out of my PC so, I've got all night.

I will be going back to 13.2. I have noticed a significant number of blue screens with 14.1 related to video overlay (normally seen when starting a video play). Also have noticed issues with other overalys such as screen corruption, none of which were seen in 13.2

Running a full backup first.

The problem was related to a registry key hanging around for CCC after uninstall, and then reinstall was not overriding this key thus causing a call problem. I used DDU as was suggested to clean all those keys out (a lot easier than doing it manually). I used version 12 of DDU which does support the 14.1 beta apparently.

I am back on 13.12 and CCC is now once again working. I suspect the original was caused by not removing 13.12 prior to the install of the 14.1 beta. According to another thread here apparently the need to dump 13.12 first was not in there originally (don't know for sure - doesn't matter now).

Anyways thanks for the assistance.

Well, I don't know about that....sent a report regarding the 13.30 beta drivers and they were gracious enough to have a dialog with me about them.

Play with betas...expect to have your alpha kicked once in a while!

Nice. I find the only time (any software company) contacts me back during Beta is if I leave very basic info in the bug report and they actually are trying to track it.
