What happened to the stand alone CAP downloads?  Are they automatically included in the CCC pkg. from now on?

Seems like a inefficient way to do it....what if you don't want the new drivers? They should make them available to the people who believe "If it ain't broke don't fix it".

They should yes, but they haven't released a stand alone version since 11.2 CAP 2. A casualty of the "We're going to release drivers ASAP instead of once per month WHQL + as needed CAPs" attitude AMD moved to. I wonder why though, because AMD still feels the need to put

NOTE: AMD CrossFiretm users do not need to install a CAP for this release.

Thanks.  But they need a disclaimer that states such on the driver download page.  Like they do for their beta drivers.  I've been searching everywhere on their site for the latest CAPs... lol.

I guess that isn't such a bad idea, though.  That's the way Nvidia does it with their game profiles. too.

On an off-topic note, how do I get this forum to email me replies to my posts, or posts I follow?

Probably AMD realized that they release drivers more often then CAPs, which defeats the purpose altogether.

Well, it certainly doesn't defeat the purpose, since the idea was that you could update the CAP without updating the drivers.

Only if the CAP updates were no longer compatible between driver releases would eliminating the separate download make sense.
