How is amd gonna compete? This article states that Nvidia will be releasing a miracle driver and uses direct x 11, so this means every single game will see a cosiderable performance boost,  http://wccftech.com/nvidias-dx11-driver-337xx-arrive-april/

Look at the scale. The 780Ti (new) will only achieve FOUR more FPS than the 290x (using mantle) while Star Swarm sees maybe 10. As for the other chart, there is no benchmark given, an arbitrary scale, and it is based on nVidia's figures, not unbiased third party. You say miracle drivers, I see a typical driver release showing a performance improvement in line with driver optimizations for new games.

Hmm a miracle driver LOL. I remember the days when Nvidia released a driver they claimed 50 % increase in speed. Lets be realistic  there is no such thing as a miracle driver. I use AMD and Nvidia video cards both products serve me well although I only use MSI cards because of their warranty last time a fan went on my 7950 I shipped it out Monday morning got a new card back Wednesday afternoon.

Also who said AMD can't release its own "miracle driver" and that mantle won't be even faster once it's a bit more mature?

'cause AMD can't produce a set of stable device drivers in the past 10 years that I have tried using their GPU's. Everytime I revert back to NVidia and their cards run flawless day-after-day-after-day. I'm getting ready to dump my R290X Radeons and go back to my GTX 770's. At least they run - reliably - day after day after day; no matter the temp; no matter the game.

It is truly unbelieveable that AMD cannot EVER produce a stable, reliable device driver. Everything they people complain about is true; BSOD'; black screens; frozen screens; driver stopped/restart; Tried 13.12, 14.2 beta, and now 14.3 beta. All crapola!

You will virtually never experience this with NVIdia drivers.

Yeah, and probably I should get an AMD mobo/cpu and then see if that makes a difference. I've never had to look on a NVidia forum because their hardware/drivers ALWAYS work on all Wintel machines I've ever had. But I have actually never had an AMD Mobo nor CPU. Maybe I should try that?

And actually, I do have one Wintel machine running one 290X xFX video card in Win8.1 on an Ivy Bridge chipset. Otherwise, bad news on Haswell/Win8.1 and x58/Win7sp1. I was thinking about getting an ASRock Fatal1ty 990FX Killer AM3+ mobo. What CPU would you suggest?

I have been through 5 ATI/AMD GPU's...I have never had a card failure, a driver failure(offical drivers, I don't mess with Beta's) or any sort of persistant problems.

Why don't you compare processors?

I'm confused...  so why ditch nVidia in the first place if they're that good ???

Am embarrassed that MY AMD components have ALWAYS functioned flawlessly.

Hopefully, none of the complainer's bad experiences are because they don't know what they are doing...that would be so sad.

so I guess you never try anything new? Hope your current components and hardware and games are working out for you 5 years from now... You're not confused, trust me.

That logic makes no sense...  Why try something new if your 770's were " running - reliably - day after day after day; no matter the temp; no matter the game. "

What were u trying to achieve on top of the super reliability you already had ?

People don't change something without an underlying reason...

Unless you have money to burn, people will seldom change something just for the heck of it...

There is ALWAYS a reason.....  and i am willing to bet that YOU were not as happy with your 770's as you make out to be..
