Hi all , i want to share my experience with the community .

I was an nvidia user, i had a gtx 580 and i had never a problem with it, with driver and games, when bf4 was released i decided to change it and i bought a xfx r9 280x to improve my games experience, well , from that day i have no peace.

i have already made  rma with my first xfx r9 280x becouse i had freeze with gray screen and vertical gray line.

I'm sorry, probaly someone will think i'm overdoing but let me ask how is possible with a one year old rebranded vga have all this problems.

I'm talking about 2d flickering and hdmi audio output bug, probably some kind of incompatibility with realtek onboard soundcard or intel igpu driver, however i can't use the vga hdmi output on my tv (samsung es8000 ) becouse randmoly the audio wont work, obivisuly if i use the igpu hdmi i have no problem, both problems are common in many user and from long time, amd is on the window watching us trying to fix this bugs changing  the vga frequences trought catalyst overdrive or disabling the motherbours soundcard, well , this is not right becouse my money when i bought this card wasn't faulty or bugged, i want a damn working driver, i don't want be crazy on google trying to find solution to amd shortage, i paid for a working vga and i want it, i want install driver and play the games or what movies trought hdmi without go CRAZY.

Am'i asking too much ?

well, i'm so sorry but if you don't fix this elementary problems i will never buy your products anymore, and i think alot of people will do the same.

Below my pc specs :

asrock z77 extreme 4 and z68 extreme 4

i5 2500k

8 gb corsair vengeance 1866 Mhz

corsair 850 tx 850 W

And i have tried both driver beat and stable ...

Sorry for my english.

When you RMA, you should get a different brand as all the issues you describe sound like BIOS/VBIOS problems. Updating might help as well if updates are available.

Did you upgrade your Realtek drivers?

Have you updated your BIOS?

Have you connected to a "monitor" other than your TV to see what performance you get?  Are your refresh rates compatible?

Other than RMA, what attempts have you made to resolve the issue?

I have the latest BIOS, vbios, realtek driver, windows 8.1 update 1 and so on, i've tried all, reinstall system, plug and unplug many time the HDMI, change drivers but nothing solved the issue

My HDMI problemi is not related to the video but only on the audio, sometime work and sometimes no, if i reboot the system the audio from HDMI work but if i try to use hdmi after some time it doesn't work.

Did you connect to a monitor?

Have you checked your mobo connectors?

probably i didn't explain the problems as i should, anyway the 2d flickering don't need explanation, the hdmi problem appear randomly and only the audio seems bugged, i use a monitor connected with dvi and audio trought speakers with realtek onboard soundcard (realtek alc898) and i have no problem, when i use the tv for watch a movie (connected torught hdmi ) i can see the desktop on tv but the sound sometime work and sometime doesn't. Obiviusly when the problem occour i check on the control panel-> hardware and sound , the device appear not connected , after a reboot the sound torught hdmi work again. This problem appear randomly but i notice that happen especially when the pc is on from long time. There is another "fix" to this problem  without reboot the pc, if i disable and enable the amd hdmi output trought control panel ---> system ---> device manager , the sound work again. When the problem occour the catalyst control panel show my tv connected but not able to use the sound.Obiviusly the hdmi cable is not defective beocuse if i use the igpu trought hdmi all is working flawless, and was working flawless even with my old nvidia gtx 580.

This problem isn't related to this specifically vga becouse i had it even with the other r9 280x i gave in warranty.

i even tried to use and change stable and beta driver, make a fresh os install, and i made many other try but nothing fix it.

i don't know if it is a specific brand problem, probably many of you don't use hdmi so often like me and didn't uncovered this problem yet.

probably the vbios is crappy as the catalyst driver, the tv (1400 Euro) work like a charm with other vga, and anyway the 2d flickering still there on the monitor and on tv!
