I recently bought BF4 and needed to update my graphics driver as I hadnt done so in a while.  During the install process windows keeps crashing and giving me a blue screen.

I am using a HD 6xxx series card, windows 7, Asus Essentio Series CG1330.  I updated widows as well as my bios and it still crashes during the driver install.

Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated!

To perform a 'clean install' of AMD graphics drivers:

1. IMPORTANT: All Windows Updates should be current, including the 'optional/suggested' updates
2. IMPORTANT: Disable all anti-virus/ad blockers/anti-malware/ anti-anything before trying to install
3. IMPORTANT: Netframework is required and must be the latest version. (from Windows Update)

Create a system restore point before, just in caes.

Download the drivers for your computer to the desktop.  Use these drivers.

Delete existing drivers from your computer:

In computer control panel select 'uninstall a program'
For computers with Intel processors:
Select AMD install manager and choose 'express uninstall all AMD software'
Including the install manager.

For computers with AMD processors:
Select AMD install manager and 'custom uninstall' the graphics drivers and CCC only.

Reboot.

Install the new drivers suite...use custom install and uncheck 'gaming evolved' if you don't want it.

Reboot.

You're lucky, as there is a rule when it comes to computers: If the user asks for help about a BSOD without posting all the error codes and other information posted with them, it's always unicorns. There is no exception. All you have to do is hunt down the unicorns, drink their blood, and your computer will work again.

Thanks for the help.  I was actually getting ready to try this.  Sorry for no error codes or anything, I'm actually not that computer literate.

You don't need to be computer literate to press the photo button on your mobile phone, lol. If you can't do that, don't touch computers...
