AMD Catalyst™ 14.7 RC Driver for Windows® Operating System

Last Updates: 7/10/2014
Article Number: RN-WIN-RC14.7
? ???????
  • Starting with AMD Catalyst 14.6 Beta, AMD will no longer support Windows 8.0 (and the WDDM 1.2 driver)
  • Windows 8.0 users should upgrade (for free) to Windows 8.1 to take advantage of the new features found in the AMD Catalyst 14.7 RC driver
  • AMD Catalyst 14.4 will remain available for users who wish to remain on Windows 8
    • A future AMD Catalyst release will allow for the WDDM 1.1 (Windows 7 driver) to be installed under Windows 8.0 for those users unable to upgrade to Windows 8.1

The AMD Catalyst™ 14.7 RC driver can be downloaded from the following link:??

NOTE! This Catalyst Driver is provided "AS IS", and under the terms and conditions of the End User License Agreement provided with it.

Installing the AMD Catalyst? Software Driver
For detailed instructions on how to correctly uninstall or install the AMD Catalyst Software Suite, please refer to the following support resources:

Feature Highlights of the AMD Catalyst 14.7? RC Driver for Windows
  • Includes all improvements found in the AMD Catalyst 14.6 RC driver
  • AMD ?CrossFire and AMD Radeon Dual Graphics profile update for Plants vs. Zombies???
  • Assassin's Creed IV - improved CrossFire scaling (3840x2160 High Settings) up to 93%
  • Collaboration with AOC has identified non-standard display timings as the root cause of 60Hz SST flickering exhibited by the AOC  U2868PQU panel on certain AMD Radeon™ graphics cards. A software workaround has been implemented in AMD Catalyst 14.7 RC driver to resolve the display timing issues with this display.
    • Users are further encouraged to obtain newer display firmware from AOC that will resolve flickering at its origin.
    • Users are additionally advised to utilize DisplayPort-certified cables to ensure the integrity of the DisplayPort data connection.???

Glad to see another driver which increases 3DMark scores, that's a major priority!

Crap like that and PvZ are reasons we still have to use third party tools to control our GPUs clocks and fans...

The PvZ could be for the new PvZ Garden Warfare. It has to be because there is no reason to update a crossfire profile for the original game.

And with Mantle, CPU isn't really relevant, even with a 295x2

You didn't install it right. Uninstall previous drivers before attempting a install of new beta/rc drivers. FAQ has a guide. Installing / uninstalling AMD drivers

If you use madVR for a video renderer, this driver (yet again) hurts performance.  Yet another release that I have needed to roll back to 13.12

Strange - I did a clean install 4 times {followed the instructions step by step} and Catalyst shows driver 14.6 RC everytime.

Driver Packaging Version - 14.20.1004-140709a-173735E

Catalyst Version - 14.6

AMD Catalyst Control Center Version 2014.0709.1135.19003

Direct3D Version 9.14.10.01044

OpenGL Version 6.14.10.12967
Mantle Version 9.1.10.0020

2D Driver Version 8.01.01.1407
AMD Audio Driver Version 9.0.0.9905

Device Manager for Windows 8.1 64 bit shows Driver Date 7/9/2014

Driver Version 14.200.1004.0

AMD Gaming envolved shows Catalyst beta driver 14.7 available.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong as I have updated my AMD drivers this same way for the past year and a half.

I have a intel processor and three 7970's installed.

Any other ideas ?

Thanks.

Everything seems to match up with my Catalyst software info except the correct version ?

Build Info:
DriverVer=07/09/2014, 14.200.1004.0000
Catalyst: 14.7
CCC: 2014.0709.1135.19003

OGL: 6.14.10.12967

I haven't installed it yet..but there is another report of the same thing.

edit:

Yup...here's what the CCC says. Can someone with 14.6 confirm these are different versions?

Yes, as you read we noticed it. It must be basically the same drivers + the fix for some flickering problems on some specific monitors. They work good, except it seems they don't solve the monitor stand-by problem, yet.

Well, I just installed the drivers, it actualy works for once compared to any other 14.* drivers (even the official releases, not just the beta's) since they all bring out no input to my monitors or either BSOD's my Windows, but now Eyefinity is broken to me. Once I enable it and I restart my PC, it is disabled and I'm forced to enable it again.

MSI HD7970 Lightning incase anyone wonders.
