i have a xfx hd7970 and the catalyst driver does not control the fan. in COD ghost with AMD gaming Evolved optomized graphic, my gpu goes 99% at 86 C. the fan stay at 20% only, so my graphic card crash.

motherboard p8z77v-lk

win7 64bit

12g ram

i5 2500k

i install Saphire triXX apps . its the only way i can control the fan.

even if i put the fan manualy at 50% in the catalyst driver, it stay a 20%

Trixx su*ks, try msi afterburner, set up a custom fan curve so the fan automatically speeds up as temps get higher and goes into total silence when the temps are low. 86C shouldn't crash the card, 7970 can easily handle 90C+ (not recommended though).

Hmm.. this error is to blame on Activision There is a massive group of people having this issue, regardless if they use AMD or Nvidia gpu's and it seems to occur mostly due to IGP's and switchable graphics. Try turning off the Intel HD 2000 integrated into your 2500k in bios and the problem should go away.

I completely remove the driver for the video card and I use to remove the remaining file, driverfusion . there were installed on my computer file of microsoft visual c + + x86 and x64 while my system is 64-bit. I deleted the X86 and re-installed the video card driver file. until now everything is fine.

thanks zipsi

thanks black_zion

i will update if the problem is not corrected
