Ability to downsample from custom resolution is an important feature that AMD CCC lacks. However, it was possible to create any resolution in 3rd party programs until Catalyst 13.X and still possible to create up to 2720x1530 with some registry hack. Nvidia officially support this in their drivers for quite some time, so why should't AMD? It's not that hard, especially when it works in pretty much every game that uses driver's set of resolutions and also AMD Eyefinity already has support for mixed resolutions on multiple screens, so scaling on only one screen shouldn't be a problem. One could also dream of support of different scaling algorithms or multiple stages of downsampling (eg. 1440p>1080p) so that the games wouldn't get smaller when increasing rendering resolution or get outside of the screen when in windowed mode (yes, you can do that in GeDoSaTo, but from my experience it's not as flawless as driver based downsampling and i have little hope that it will ever be). But in the mean time downsampling is very limited on AMD (1530p max) and people are not too happy with registry hack method, you can read this thread on guru3d with a lot of people seriously considering Nvidia just for the ability to downsample easily. I know that people twitted Roy Tailor about this feature, but we still have no results. Really hope i'm not talking to a wall here.
