Hello everybody, I've just bought an MSI R9 280X Gaming 3G, and if I use any drivers after 13.12 WHQL I get graphical glitches.  OS Win 7 x64 SP1.

Stuff like Sniper Elite III plays fine with the 13.12 WHQL drivers, so it could be worse I suppose, but what happened to monthly driver releases? And how long before the next WHQL drivers?

I had ATI cards from 2004 to 2012 and updating drivers never did anything like this before.  In fact it was usually the opposite.  If you had glitches you updated drivers to get rid of them.  My guess is it's definitely driver related, but I would appreciate some input from other users.  Also if I'm right, with 13.12 WHQL there's no Mantle support?

I don't know if my system specs will help, but here goes:-

Asus P8P67 Pro Motherboard, i5 2500K @ 4.6GHz, 12GB DDR 3 1333 MHZ RAM, NH-D14, Adequate Case Cooling, OCZ Vertex 3 240GB SSD, Multiple HDD's For Storage, Antec 650W New PSU.

Sorry for the long post.

Thanks In Advance

Sid

You must uninstall your current drivers before you can install the new. Follow the guide in the FAQ section...uninstalling/installing AMD graphics drivers.

Thanks for your response, I'll give it a go but I don't hold out much hope.

I've tried using DDU to get rid of any leftovers, but still the glitches are there with anything above 13.12 WHQL

Thankyou very much "stumped".  It turned out installing the optional Windows 7 updates sorted it.  I would never have thought that optional updates would have been the key in a month of Sundays.

You learn something new every day.

Again Thanks for your help.

Sid

I may have jumped the gun a bit with this one.  I use Acronis True Image and have just restored my C drive using an Acronis image from a couple of months ago.

Before I updated Windows I ran DDU in safe mode, and removed Nvidia drivers (I had GTX 560's) as well as AMD drivers (For my 280x) before installing the 14.4 WHQL drivers and the glitches are gone.

So it could have been something to do with the Nvidia drivers for my 560's that were causing the glitching issues with my 280x.

Just thought I'd update the post in case anybody else gets the same issue.
