I have an HD5770 Radeon graphic card that work nicely until now. For other reasons I made a fresh install of Windows and all works nice until ATI Catalyst install.
Last time I made a fresh install of Windows 7 64 bit, made all the updates and mobos drivers install and created a restore point.
Windows update says that there's an optional update - ATI graphic driver, so the detections goes well.
Also the ATI Autodetect is working nice as it points to the correct driver.
I tryed 4 different drivers, in this order:
- ATI Catalyst from ATI Autodetect
- ATI Catalyst beta 14.7
- Windows driver
- Old ATI 13.1 driver
All goes well on the installation but after reboot only the windows backgroung is displayed. I have nothing more, no start menu button/bar, no icon, no task manager.
But through the power button on the case windows shuts down normally.
When I do a restore all goes back to normal.
Here are my specs:
MB Asus H97M-E
Intel Celeron G3258 (HD graphics is disabled on BIOS)
GSkill 2x2GB DDR3 F3-12800CL7-2GB ECO
SSD Samsung 840 EVO
HD 1TB Samsung
ATI HD 5770 1GB
PSU Corsair VX550W
Any leads on this? Thank you
