Hi

I've spent all day installing and uninstalling 14.7 with problems every time. I have to use 14.7 as it is the only driver that works with the software (not game) that I am using.

First of all, my specs:

GPU: AMD Radeon R9 290

OS: Windows 7 SP1 with .NET 4.5.1

When I install the 14.7, the first suspicious thing during the install proccess is a warning that says "AMD CIM not the latest version", yet I have downloaded the latest version (beta, 14.7):

http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop?os=Windows+7+-+64

Next suspicious thing is when it finishes installing, it says it has errors and to check the log. I check the log, and everything says successful.

Under device manager, the Driver Version shows as 14.200.1004.0, which I am told by another forum poster (different site) that that's okay, it means 14.7 is used.

Please help! I've been uninstalling and reinstalling literally all day today and yesterday, and reading forums.

Thanks

Also, one more suspicious post-install message, a pop up from the control center keeps saying "you should update to dirver 14.4" even though I have already installed 14.7...

CIM = Catalyst Install Manager

Doesn't affect anything, you don't need the latest version, it's just a back-end for the Windows Installer service.

Errors: The message is the result of the CIM problem, don't worry about it.

Conclusion: Your driver components are OK, you have nothing to do. The unnstall circle you're doing is unnecessary.

I've had similar issues with the latest beta drivers.
Installation issues and even hard locks.
Just ended up going back to the previous beta driver.

Just read an article about AMD/Nvidia.
AMD talked about the bad rap they've gotten over the years for driver support.
The last official driver was from April.

This isn't helping.
