Remember that toilet paper commercial where they asked you to vote on if you put your toilet paper so it unrolls over the top or under the bottom? Well, here's a fun little survey, do you put your optical drives at the top or bottom of your tower? Convention tells us that optical drives go at the top, floppy (anyone still use those?) drives and card readers in the middle, and hard drives/SSDs at the bottom. But what do you do, follow or break convention?

Personally I mount my ODDs at the bottom (both of them), hard drives at the top (until I replace them with SSDs in the next few weeks).

Since my whole computer is in the floor and screens on table, so my optical drive is on top.. Imagine to crouch every time I have to insert a CD/DVD on it..

Floppy???..

A fan controller right in the botton of the optical drive..

And my HDDs on the bottom.. More because my case it's a MID one, not FULL tower, and no much room to spare with 5 drives..

But, since you ask, for now, I'm into the conventional way...

Best regards...

I have one USB optical drive which I plug in wherever I need it.  The rest of the time, it's stuffed in a drawer somewhere.

Mine is sort of in the middle.....I have a huge case though so it looks like it is on top.

I defied convention by mounting the drive at the bottom of my case, and facing inward.

I voted, "Top."
