WHAT WAS THAT? I CAN'T HEAR YOU OVER THE NOISE OF MY 5970?!
But yea it has been pretty quiet, especially if you don't count all the threads where people ask for help yet haven't read the sticky and provide the necessary information.

Now Now, frustration doesn't always lead to sane thought.

Won't be much longer, I bit the bullet and used part of my tax refund to get me a XFX 7970 Ghz Double D, several dB quieter than this 5970 and no doubt cooler than 85°C. $399.99 after mail in rebate, going to try and get around $200 for this 5970 on eBay. The downside is that Newegg doesn't know what RUSH PROCESSING means so it'll most likely be Monday until I get it.
God, $200 for a card I paid $625 for 3 years ago...But this really will be the last card I buy for a long time, next time I hit the upgrade shelves will be...Hopefully when AMD launches the successor to Steamroller. I've spent WAY to much on my computer over the past few months...

Nope, not unless you can hold on to them for about 30 years. Have you seen what some of the retro tech from the 80s and early 90s is going for these days?

Mostly Apple stuff from the 70s, but take a look on eBay at the vintage computers section, something like the Intel 4004D chip went for $200 up to the MITS ALTAIR 8800 for $4,999.99.
