HI!!!

Just saying hi and testing Sig and stuff.  Work in the dreaded PC World so if anyone needs info in what AMD's products actually run like. I have access to everything from an E1 to an A10 but no FX series sadly and From Celron to i7 4rth gen.
Just built the machine in the top of the sig, Also own an old Acer W500 win7 tablet running 8.1 (sucks fro wifi support!) which i'll be moving back to 8 because of G Sensor support and the fact my wi-fi works properly on 8!
Also the PC in the bottom of the sig is a media machine. The Phenom X2 Balck with the 4GB btw is rocket fast in windows with the Asus board! Nvidia 8200a AM3 chipset.

So enough about me, how about you? Have anything cool in or out of your PC? let me no i love custom stuff from DH bike to motorbikes to PC to Camera's

Chromium Based "Dragon" or Firefox Based "ICE Dragon" from comodo.

You could call orginonal firefox and google chrome an abomination now too cause both suck and one steal and sells everything thing about you, the other is no longer the lightest browser on the market it's ate to many pies.

lol been so long since i used DOS, was in high school when 3.1 came out. But we had black n' White mac's then a Power PC!!!
http://retrothing.typepad.com/photos/uncategorized/2008/06/18/machello.jpg

Anyway I got  the W500 quite by accident. We had been selling these for months and a customer had broken one by banging it to hard so it sat in the back office for ages with a broken screen till' it went down to half price iirc £150. So it had a broken screen and missing PSU what do i do? I sent the unit to ACER to get fixxed under store stock, found a netbook charger and bought the beastie. £150 Bargin ( over a year ago maybe 18months )

Everyones first comment "Why did you get that"? Felling a little smug i just said wait n' see. Showed them Photoshop/lightroom running, Half Life (source) running on HDMI via wifi keyboard etc.. And most people could see the benfit but there was the apple fanboys that were like it's to big, it's too fat, it runs to warm blah blah blah blah... Common answer to that was Can you run photoshop, picasa, half life, office 2010? Use SDHC cards, use hdmi without a dongle or use normal usb and pass data back n' forward, run files to network via NAS, FTP, Torrent, P2P etc..? I can "i" fan boys eh..

Anyway After Windows 8 came out the tablet REALLY came into it's own. Windows 8 kicks ass as a Tablet os in the x86 market and even RT is great on the ARM side. I would love a surface as the w500 is a bit of a beastie but she was created before the win8 revolution started

Been looking at the ACER W510 (MicroUSB, MicroSD, Micro HDMI, Standard USB, Keyboard it a nice peace of kit and the New ATOMS run 1080p so it great at that too. Sadly funds are always an issue HP X2 kinda sucks due it's connecting issue. HDMI and USB in the battery (heavy) keyboard is a design flaw i think.

Seen Ubuntu running on the ACER, would love to try hackintosh for shi7's n giggles.

Very cool.  Yeah, before I ever got a tablet (my first was a Samsung Galaxy Tab), I almost didn't see what the fuss was all about, but now I really appreciate the portability and convenience of that form factor.  I mean, when all you want to do is just surf the web, watch a movie or read an e-book, it beats having to get your laptop out in my opinion.  But my laptop and desktop are still better for productivity and serious gaming.

Hey, I have a Mac similar to that that I bought from an Apple re-seller 11 or 12 years ago.  I just had to have one ... kind of a conversation piece, but I really wanted to see what those early Macs were like.

Well, something that is expensive and breaks if dropped is not really convenient. Mobile phones can be bad enough, tablets are wors as they're bigger.

Tablets will be OK if

- They are cheap.

- They can be folded.

Both will happen in a few years I guess.

I think Acer tablets are great quality ones. My friend just bought Acer's phone, Acer Liquid E2, and it blew my mind. The overall quality is just amazing for a small player like Acer. So that leads me to believe that Acer tablets will also be great quality tablets, especially the ones with Windows 8 OS.
