The first thing you may be thinking is the "Windows 8 UI", but just think of all the programs you used for years which were perfectly fine the way they were, but had their UIs overhauled with or without the option to put them back the way they were. Several Microsoft programs with the Ribbon interface, and Firefox (constantly because they think we are all idiots) especially with the upcoming Australis interface which looks F'ing idiotic, among many others.

Now I can see them trying to give things a fresh look, but what's wrong with a whacking great button labeled PUT IT BACK if we feel the time tested interfaces were more efficient...
