As I was looking at some of the NFL Draft results from several sources, I came across one on Yahoo. On the top of the page it displays the fact that Do Not Track requests are not honored, and includes a link to their privacy policy https://info.yahoo.com/privacy/us/yahoo/ On the side is displayed this:

Web browser Do Not Track settings are no longer enabled on Yahoo. Users receive a personalized experience by default...

Relevant Advertising

By bringing content and advertising to you that is relevant and tailored to your interests, Yahoo provides a more compelling online experience...

Yet another reason to always use NoScript and AdBlock Plus if you are going to visit such sites. Or better yet, don't even use Yahoo.

Strangely enough, Apple has started cracking down on apps that track your usage.

Only apps that track usage but do not display advertisements themselves, as they just collect the information and sell it to other advertising companies. I know advertising helps keep many sites alive, but its the in-line, obtrusive, targeted advertising which needs to go away.

I have been using this new program for about two weeks, and so far it seems to be the answer to any and all tracking programs that gather any information for whatever reason. It works with IE and Firefox/Waterfox..I don't know about Chrome, etc. You keep using your preferred search engine (Google, etc). Before poo-pooing it, spend some time researching who the developers are.
