I keep looking at these temperature readings I am getting for my AMD FX-6300 with CPUID HWMonitor and Core Temp and I can't believe how low they are.  They are in the low 30s and right now I am running Prime 95 with a 4.31 GHz oc max speed and I am wondering how this is possible ?  Are these being accurately read or do I need some other software that is more reliable ?

HWMonitor should be "more accurate".

Are you looking at the "CPU temperature reading under the "Temperatures" tab?

The Temperature reading for each CORE is inaccurate.

From my experience, CoreTemp doesn't have very good support for AMD CPUs. For others, CoreTemp works quite well for AMD's FX chip...I don't know.

I don't know who your motherboard manufacturer is (or what motherboard you are using) but...

Gigabyte's monitoring tool is okay. The temperature reading is way out of wack when the CPU is idle, but load temperatures seems pretty damn bang on.

ASUS's temperature monitoring softeare isn't bad either. Similar to Gigabyte's issue, little iffy during idle.

AIDA64 Extreme Edition is another good one...and it seems to show more realistic / accurate temperature readings. On the Drop-down menu on the left:

Computer -> Sensor

Look at the "CPU" temperature, not the "Core #"

Downloaded the lasted CoreTemp to see...yep, the temperature reading if wrong...still. It seems to be showing the core temperautres.

I'd say try HWMonitor again, but this time, look at the CPU temperature & not the reading for each individual core.
