It's incredible to see that SB 9.11 is still on line ready to be downloaded.
Are we affected by this issue a small number of users?
Who knows....

Judging by the variance in motherboards reported, it seemed to me that anyone with 64bit Vista or Win7 would be affected. I am also very surpised that SB 9.11 is still available. Did AMD put up a silent update or is the package still the same (I deleted my copy)?
Perhaps the number of users who actually install the SB package really is small...

I've just downloaded once more the SB 9.11. Dimension is the same...but the two files report a different "last modified date".
The oldest one is November, 17th 2009 at 9.34
The latest one is November , 17th 2009 at 21.43
At the moment I really don't want to reinstall the 9.11 package again. I'll wait a little more to see if AMD/ATI will explain us what happened.

Hi Folks,
Windows 7 x64 here. Ran into the same issue - when in history has an update completely disabled USB connectivity? I hope they get this fixed fast.

spulci, since AMD/ATI is taking an embarrasingly long time to acknowledge the problem, and more people are arriving at this thread, perhaps you could update your first post to reflect:
1) what we've learned so far 2) where to find old SB drivers (one of my posts) 3) the methods that some have taken to remedy the problem 4) where to complain (Catalyst Feedback Link)
Shame on AMD/ATI for letting this problem persist as long as it has. All they need to do is replace the SB9.11 package with SB9.10 until a fixed package is made available.

Guys,
Just installed Cat 9.11 Suite and also 9.11 SB drivers on my 790FX board.
No issues to report. All working well using Logitech G15 USB K/B and G5 USB mouse.
Cheers

I've just installed again SB 9.11 package downloaded yesterday with different modified date......
and now my system is working properly....no issue....
NOW IT'S CLEAR! Amd distributed in the first two days an SB 9.11 install package with some kind of issue (corrupted files, beta files or whatever you want).
They silently change the install package online and they told us NOTHING.
The "last modiefed date" change is incredible.
Feel free to download the new version and run setup again.
Btw, are we their loyal customer base? Why they did not tell us nothing about this issue? It's not a shame to tell your customer "we made a mistake, we're sorry". As a developer, I made and fix several bugs on a daily base.
Hope AMD will release soon a message to us to clarify their position to allow us to be more confident when they'll release Catalyst 9.12 next month.

Please have a look at the first post of this thread (I've just updated it!). I downloaded 9.12 SB Catalyst driver and AGAIN I've got the same issue of 9.11 first release.
Please post here if you have any issues with 9.12. I'm going to open a Catalyst Crew Feedback right now.

Hi
I have this problem too. Am nearly there, but embarrassingly I cannot select the ATI Catalyst Install or Uninstall option using the keyboard shortcuts. Could somebody please advise ? I have checked the net but cannot find an option to move from one box to another.
Thanks

Please have a look at this thread. I gave last month a procedure to keep back to life all your usb ports unistalling Catalyst SB. Please be sure to have Catalyst 9.11 to install after the procedure.

Did you have the previous issue with SB 9.11 on Windows 7 in the first two release days?

Yes, before installing the SB 9.12 there were the 9.11 SB driver installed. I just install the 9.12 on the 9.11 and then I restarted Windows. No problems. Maybe this problem affects only some new chipsets, my system is based on the old "gloriously" socket 939..

It seems that only Vista or 7 64bit are affected by this issue on mthbs with SB 700 (AM2+ or AM3).
I opened a Catalyst Crew Feedback...but this time I hope some AMD tech will have time to write something here. It's the second month we have this bug and last month it disappered suddenly without reason (they changed the sb install file on line as explained by me in a previous post).

Did you experience previous problems with 9.11 SB version? I want to understand if there's someone who had issue with first release of 9.11 SB and that now has problems again with 9.12.
Btw I've got an Asus M3A9T-Deluxe as the previous user who had problems with 9.12 SB driver.

I've just downloaded again SB 9.12 driver to see that yesterday and today files have again DIFFERENT CREATION DATE.
Yesterday .exe has been created on Dec 17th at 20:25
Today .exe has been created on Dec 18th at 18:52
Another silent release? I'm going to install the new one to see what happens.
