Hello, I recently bought an Hp Pavilion DV6 Here are the specs.

AMD A8-3500M Quad Core 1.5GHz

6GB of DDR3 RAM

AMD Radeon HD 6750M switchable graphics

*This is what is says in the AMD System Monitor

AMD radeon HD 6755G2 Dual Graphics Prcessing Using

#1 ) Amd Radeon HD 6620G2

#2 ) Amd Radeon 6600M and 6700M Series

My problem is CrossFireX is enabled and when I run a video game like Battlefield 3, Skirim, the dedicated video card isn't being used. I've toyed around in all the settings I can think off and can't get it to use/switch the other one on at all. I've redownloaded drivers also.

It runs the games ok with intergrated graphics but I really want the thing running at full power. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ok, So I figured out now that you can select power saver or high performance for the application by right clicking on your background and going to Configure switchable Graphics which now turns the second video card on. But now when running skyrim i just get a black screen . . . WTH.

Considering you are the only one here with that shitbox HP, how about going to, I don't know, the HP forums where they can actually help you?

Well, if people did actually read release notes and KB article pages, then people wouldn't get bored and annoyed with having to answer the same things 100+ times a day, would they ?

Here, for future reference :

http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/737-28041SupportforATIMobility.aspx

.. and from the release notes Read Me file :

AMD Mobility Product Family Compatibility

AMD Catalyst™ Mobility is a notebook reference graphics driver with limited support for system vendor specific features. When used with Windows Vista or Windows 7, users may have unwanted experiences.

The Installation Verification Software will prevent driver download on certain notebook products. This is to protect against the installing of drivers that may disable features or functionality provided by the system manufacturer. If unwanted experiences occur while using Catalyst Mobility, it is recommended to revert back to the driver provided by your system vendor for your specific platform. Please contact your system vendor for the most recent drivers for your notebook.

The following notebooks are not compatible with this release:

  • Any notebook launched after this driver release
  • Switchable Graphics enabled notebooks using Intel® chipsets.
  • Toshiba notebooks® (please contact the notebook OEM for driver support for these notebooks)
  • Sony® VAIO® notebooks (please contact the notebook OEM for driver support for these notebooks)
  •  Panasonic® notebooks (please contact the notebook OEM for driver support for these notebooks)

... so the OP needs to be talking to whoever made that laptop's tech support people for newer drivers for it ..

.. and seeing as he expected help here, when it's just a basic user to user based forum, and was sarcastic about it ( when NOBODY here is obliged to answer any thread or post ), then he got a sarcastic answer back ..
