Hi,e 

I am looking at getting a high end gaming machine and would like to get the AMD 6990M.

But i am not sure if it supports switchable graphics when paried with an i7, if it does not then the battery when used for office tasks is going to last all of 5 seconds. In which case the Nvida 580M looks much better as it does support switchable graphics (although it is more expensive and not as fast)
