Ok so in BF3 single card (6870) i get a solid 40-70 fps, no stutter, runs great.
Stick the second card in, i get 20fps tops, stutter.
WTF is the point xfire anymore, when it works, its amazing, the problem is, it rarely works, because of %*&£ Drivers. I wont be using crossfire again.... and i may even go over to Nvidia. i know they have there problems too, but nothing like at AMD. ive always used AMD but this might be the last straw now, there tech support is probs the worst ive ever seen in my life, No effort going into maintaing xfire to a high standard. its just a freakin joke.....
Anyone else agree? why cant we have xfire running sweet at the same time as single GPU? we spend this extra money for the benifits. tbh, ive seen little benifits for a looooooooooooong time, had enough tbh.....
Your thoughts?

I agree 100%. Waste of money. With the newer cards with 2gb ram you can play any of the current games. A 3xxx or 4xxx card in crossfire or a 256-512mb video ram card in crossfire is the only situation I can see being useful. IMHO.
Im just angry more than anything. I was going to get a x3 display going, (i know i could of used one 6870) but thought id get 2 and xfire for abit more performance.... i feel like ive basically just been robbed......
Nvidia cards, run hotter, louder and more power, but at least the work the majority of the time...
AMD stuff at the moment may aswell get delivered pre-broken (then the idiots would prob charge ya for it)

My feelings are BF3 is still in beta and I'd like to thank all the people who spend their $$ on it and are providing valuable assistance in debugging it.
That doesn't seem to be true. I have an MSI 6970 Twin Frozr III and I was seaching for some help with it on the MSI forums but it seems that there isn't much there, but tons of stuff written on SLI cards.

I'm on my 4th crossfire system.and all have worked flawless,no regretss, and now the dual 6950's are amazing, esp in bf3,bc2.even AVP is sweet.
one thing to try
1-uninstall ccc and profiles from add/remove programs,shutdown
2-remove second card, restart, install drivers and latest profiles
3-shut down,install 2nd card(with bridge if it has it)restart.
I had one issue from trying to tweak my system and this worked perfectly for me.
I did some research on the 6870 crossfire, and it is quite powerful, sometimes it even beat the 590 and 6990 cards.there is something there, when you find it,you should be very happy. What bios are you also using?for the mobo.
sry stumped, but not true,I have several clan mates with single card setups,6950 2g for example that dont come close to the settings in bf3 i use with out lowerd settings.I will never go back to a single card solution now,
as for nvidia,I accidentally was doing some searching/forum hunting and ended up on an nvidia forum...I was tottaly amazed at all the complaints about driver issues.and how many(like here with nvidia)threatened to go to AMD.
