I'm still waiting on kepler... sigh.. Not to buy (unless its just that great and priced reasonably well) But.. I'm not buying 3 7950's for 450$ each, thats a little insane. WTB more competition please.

Considering the price AMD put the 7950 at though I doubt it will drop much, assuming nVidia bumps down the GTX 580 and launches it at the current 580 price, but the better thing is that the drivers will be better, I see they haven't quite worked out all the GPGPU bugs yet such as video encoding. I'm not sure what I'll do...By the time I get a good amount in savings and get my student loans paid off and a new car DirectX 12 will be out...most likely I'll grab a 5850 or 5870 for 3-way

I'm sure when Kepler gets released the prices will fall pretty dramatically if all of these review sites / leak sites are somewhat close to what Nvidia has been saying... Which is a 680GTX / 670GTX being 50~20% faster then a 7970. If thats the case I see nvidia cards being 400~600$ Each with Radeons falling in the 450 and under range.

Then again kepler could be a huge fermi mistake. Ya never know.

*I use google chrome for translating 1 of these links are not in english*

http://www.3dcenter.org/news/nvidia-kepler-performance-chip-gk104-auf-april-verschoben-highend-chip-gk110-erst-im-mai

But it looks like both the GTX 680 and GTX 670 will be faster then the 7970 which would make sense seeing as how arrogantly Nvidia reps were quick to point out at CES that AMD's offerings were "disappointing"

But I don't care really. I never buy the latest greatest... I always buy bang for the buck.. I care about that.. alot ~.~ So bring on the competition..

(Although We've seen Leaked Radeon 7k slides with 7970's being clocked upwards to 1400mhz... maybe a 7975? or 7980 might be in the works for late april / may if AMD want to compete on the super high end still?)

Man this year i am totally like a kid in a candy shop.

Ya know though, in the high end market space it's like pitting a top end Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porche, Mercedes, Corvette, Koeneggsegg CCX, and a Veyron against each other, all will get you faster than you ever need to go, but some cost much more than others. The smart people realize that anything over 60FPS is a waste, 3D is a gimmick, and the majority of the games which are released for the PC are shittily coded console ports which rely on brute force and not smooth optimization.

Anyone seen the 7950's hitting 1100mhz at only 1.2v??!?!?! 20%+ performance for free. (faster then a 7970 stock by quite a bit!! )

Also in latest news AMD has reduced the price of the 7970 to 450$. If we see these savings passed along to us though remains to be seen as its up to the 3rd party manufacturers to give us that discount or not.

It's up to the eTailer to pass along that discount, it's like gasoline, doesn't matter if the station gets it for 25¢ cheaper than they did the previous time, do you think the price will drop by 25¢?

people over at SA are saying High end Nvidia GPU's won't hit till Q3... Of this year now.

In latest news here's a peak at Nvidia's line up coming March through September now (possibly I hope its 100% inaccurate as far as release dates are concerned)

http://www.tomshardware.com/news/Nvidia-Kepler-GPU-GeForce-600-Series,14642.html

*Random post around the net have led people to say that the new desktop Nvidia cards are actually going to be named the 700 Series.. leaving the 600 series for the mobile market.. wth?? *

And our Radeon Counter parts!! Lets go Team Red!!(Also thanks MSI for leaking there slide)

http://videocardz.com/30473/launch-dates-of-amd-radeon-hd-7770-hd-7750-hd-7870-and-hd-7850-revealed

*stares at tax dollars in bank account says good by to old 5870's MB Mem, And my old 965BE go go craigs list!!*

But I will say.. wait before you buy. No point in paying a premium for anyones GPU.
