hi

i update sometimes my video card , and there is a optional driver called Gatrt driver



what is the gart driver needed for?

from quick search i understand it stands for : graphics address remapping table.

who need this driver is it enchnce the video graphic or renders something?

which video graphics it support?

You answered your own question, seeing as you found that it's to do with video memory mapping, that's what it's needed for .. remapping the memory area for video memory.

.. and you didn't look any further into the function of it, just finished at the first line of it's explanation ! There is more to it, but it's slightly complicated, so I'd suggest reading more about it ( in your own language if possible, I'm sure someone has translated it into nearly every language on the planet ).

i dont really understand this all tech spec and phisics...

so do i need to install it ??

what video cards it supports??

what opearting system?

also as i seen its latest version is from like 2004, so i assume its for older video cards or opeartng systems
