Hi,
I have a HD5770 with 2 DVI, 1 HDMI and 1 DP port. My 2 TFT screens are connected to the 2 DVI ports. Now I have connected my TV to the HDMI port and I want that to be the primary monitor surrounded by my 2 TFT screens.
The problem is when I try to connect the third monitor the AMD tool tells me it's not possible and I have to remove a screen to add a new one.
I searched the web and found some guys who told me I have to connect the third monitor via DP. So I bought a DP to HDMI adapter and connected the TV with the adapter to the DP port.
This doesn't work. The AMD tool still tells me that I can't connect the third screen.
So now a friend told me I have to buy a secondary grafics card and connect them over crossfire. Is this correct? Will my HD5770 work with a HD5450 in Crossfire mode and will I be able to connect the third monitor with the secondary card? I have no idea how to archive this.
Last time I connected more than 2 monitors to a PC was with an AGP and a PCI card.
