on my system i have 2x 6950's in crossfire and with both 12.6 and 12.7 my second card ( bottom one card 2) is clocked at max setting for memory clock speed 1250 and at 450 for core clock speed while the computer is idle.

I had to revert back to 12.4 which the clock speeds were fixed.  This problem also happened with 12.3 drivers.

Is this a serious problem? Does having those idle speeds harm the video cards in the long run? Im sorta a newbie with video cards.  Thx.

This was an issue a while ago and has returned.

My second card also runs at the second stage speed on 12.6/12.7.

It wont hurt your card  but its annoying.  Start a game then exit. The speed will return to normal.
