You install VirtualBox, configure it using using the guide posted by Eydee, mount an XP iso or make it read your cd/dvd drive and then install OS like you normally would, no need to worry about drivers, the thing seems to work out of the box. Configure it to use 3D acceleration and play!

Thanks for the suggestion, I may try it. However I linked the guy who made the Vista fix to the suggestion and he had this to say:

"thats a Virtual Machine, but RS wont run in those cuz virtual machines cant utilize your hardware videocard thus forcing software mode and it chops/lags like horrid hell"

"u could try it and see i guess, no harm"

Except if you had read what you were linked to, you would see that Vbox, using the 3D additions provided, passes through hardware calls.

Yeah, that was true a few years ago, now both VirtualBox and VMWare, the 2 best VM solutions can use hardware acceleration and therefore they're able to run games.

Not every game though, especially non DirectX 8 and DirectX 9 games, and it doesn't scale to full screen size at non native reses, so it's not an ideal way to game
