As you can see below the 280x states you can run 3 monitors without a displayport or an active displayport adaptor for that matter,  for eyefinity??

is this correct or not?

i have a sapphire toxic 280x and running 2 x DVI-I & 1x HDMI i can run counterstrike global offence and metro last light @ 5760 x 1080

does this mean its actually working without a displayport ????? WOOOT!!???

As the specs indicate, 3 DVI/HDMI outputs are supported on the R9 280X.

Well, Sapphire is supposed to have some 'tech' that supports flexible port usage and Eyefinity.  I'm currently using DVI/DVI/HDMI and it's working on my 3x1 setup in BF3/4 and L4D2.

HDMI has horrible picture quality though; I'm not sure if it's responsible for the tearing I'm seeing when on my desktop.  The colour is a bit off as well.  I'll be upgrading to DisplayPort to DVI adapter and I'm just waiting to see if it's worth purchasing a more expensive one, as I'd like to run my monitors at 120hz/2D.
