I am running 2xHD6950 cards, having recently installed the 13.1 drivers and suite I am experiencing serious problems:-

On install the drivers cause my computer to crash to the BSOD

On restart it takes multiple boot attempts until Windows 7 will start without crashing to BSOD.

Windows 7 starts in 800x600 and will not allow either gfx card to enable. It also will not allow roll back of drivers.

Uninstall tried and drivers cleaned followed by full reinstall, both cards worked but gaming was like a slideshow.

Never had these issues ever before with any update from AMD

13.1 works just fine with my dual 7970 setup.  Don't draw sweeping conclusions.

I'm having trouble installing any driver on windows 8 pro 64x

only the driver's native system, when I try to install any CCC since the newer version until some old, the problem of locking the PC and BSOD. The strange thing is that it starts to install locking the PC on stage detection plate.

If anyone knows how to help.

processor

Video Card

I'm using the native driver windows 8

I've been suffering for this BSOD Error for the past 3-4 weeks. It is really annoying me big time. The AMD support has not even given me a simple reply. It has been giving me the code "BCCode: 124" which I hear is a driver/software issue usually which really fits in with what I believe is causing this "13.1 drivers" (I have tried 13.2 as well). I have used AMD drivers for the past 6 years over 3 computer systems and have never come across one problem like this. Any idea's into fixing this will be appriciated so much! P.S. I have everything up-to-date on my computer.

Spec's:

AMD Radeon 7970 ghz edition

Fx4170 stock clock: 4.2 ghz

16 RAM DDR3 @1333mhz

m5a78l-m/usb3 Motherboard

The issue is still getting annoying and worse. I think soon I might not be able to boot up my computer long enough to fix... If it ever does get fixed.

Your BSOD is very unlikely to be software-caused.  You probably have a hardware problem.

First thing you should do is download Memtest86 and run it for several hours.

sorry my english use google translator. I believe that had the same error related to the file mentioned would not be an error of memory for my computer behaves similarly in detecting exactly how it vga previously described. It shows the bsod relating to atihdw86.sys file, so if Reece Giles got bsod with the same error does not believe to be an error of memory on both computers.

Reece Giles you got an error on the bsod related FILE atihdw86.sys?

I don't remember it being related to that file. Anyways, This problem has only started ever since I download the 13.1 drivers so it seems to be related.

Found out this from my Dump Files. Can anyone help me from there? It seems to be related to "driver" and "AMD"
