Hello , My name is Mehran , i bouth a HD 7990 couple days ago , the games running in max out setting very well but i hear a strange noise from GPUs that i informed its a bug in HD 7990 , the bug name is coil whine , its very annoying during playing any games , please help me , this noise making me insane 

My PC SPECS

CPU : Core i7 3770K with cooler master fan V6GT

PSU : Green 1000W OC

VGA : HD 7990 ASUS

Main : ASUS P8 Delux

RAM : 16 Gig DDR3 2600

There's not much you can really do about that other than returning the card and getting a different one.  Coil whine can also happen in power supplies, motherboards, and a variety of other electronics.  It's not specific to just video cards.

If a return isn't an option, you could try insulating the inside of your case.  That can help stop the noise from getting outside of it and annoying you.

Using sound absorbing materials, but there is no real effective way of eliminating it. Best way I've found, since my 7970 whines like a banshee sometimes, is by cranking up my case fans to muffle the high pitched annoying whine with a much more tolerable air movement.

Yeah it's not a perfect solution by any means since PC cases have a bunch of big holes in them for airflow from the fans.  It's difficult to insulate something like that and still end up with anything that resembles a PC.

Another solution is extension cords.  If you can't insulate the PC, then just put it really far away from where you sit so the noise attenuates before it gets to you.

i haved the same problem with my card 

gigabyte 7970 oc 

i mail the RMA center about that and the compagny send me 3 fan 

but you need to change it your self

it save time and money

 

sorry it's not the same card but the same problem

Best defense against coil whine is to not generate hundreds of frames per second.  Use vsync.
