hello I was concidering buying 2 XFX r9-280's for running livestreams while playing Crysis 2 and 3 and guild wars 2 and stuff and was wondering what temperatures i would see on the cards. can i get a few opinions or personal experiences on the cards temperatures?

if they operate realy hot would it be better to run dual 7970's. currently my rig is using my card from my old pc my gtx 580 while i figure out what graphics card to get... give me your honest opinion. I'm not looking about performance because both cards would signifigantly improve on my gtx580 what i'm looking for is purely temperature related.

Depends on the model, case airflow, ambient temperatures, and fan speeds. But the 280X is a rebadged 7970 Ghz Edition, and even overclocked I don't see temps in the 70s even with a relatively slow fan speed and ambient temps in the 20s Celsius.

so 2 cards of the R9 280x shouldnt go much above 70's?... the one i'd be looking at would be slightly overclocked (factory overclocked)

I'm running the Coolermaster Cm storm trooper case

Running @ 1125mhz @ 1.25V , I hit 77C on both cards.

So Depending on your case and airflow model etc.. just like BZ said I would imagine  you'd get around the same.

I'd guess you'd get around the 70C with no OC.
