I recently upgraded my computer and installed 2 new videocards (Radeon R290 crossfire enabled) , new motherboard and CPU in my computer.
Since I got this setup the games I play have stuttering sound and distortion. Its pretty noticeable. I have used latencymon and DPC checker to check the latencies and the latency is at +16000 when playing games (on W8 and W7, I have reinstalled my computer 2 times). W7 seems to have normal latencies (around 20-40) when the computer is idle, W8 stays above 1000 all the time and rises to 16000+ when playing games.
Latencymon is pointing to a directx component, its causing high execution times (around 16/30 ms). If I play games windowed mode the stuttering etc dissappears (with crossfire enabled) but this also seems to impact FPS and smoothness in the games. If I turn off crossfire the problems go away and I can play the games fullscreen but then im missing a videocard .
I did not have this issue with my previous board and CPU (AMD 1090T CPU and ASRock Extreme4 board) ... (I had the R290's installed in the old computer first). So it started when I replaced the motherboard and CPU (ASRock Killer Z87 and Intel 4770K) ... so I would think it has something to do with the new motherboard or CPU, but why do the problems disappear when I disable crossfire or play games in windowed mode ?? Is there something wrong with the drivers ?
