I have just bought a CLUB3D Radeon HD6570 2.0GB and was wondering if I can still keep my ATI hd 4870 in same machine. If so, what do I need to do or what is the best settings e.g. putting the new card in the first slot, using/not needing crossfire etc etc.

I have 2 monitors running on the same system so will probally use the 4870 (if I can keep it) on my smaller screen; will I have to do anything special so I get extended desktop etc.

Thanks in advance

Computer specs:

Windows 7 64bit 4 GB mem CCC 13.9

QuadCore AMD Phenom II X4 Black Edition 955, 3215 MHz (16 x 201)

Gigabyte GA-MA790FXT-UD5P  (2 PCI, 3 PCI-E x1, 2 PCI-E x16, 4 DDR3 DIMM, Audio, Gigabit LAN, IEEE-1394)

P.S. Will Call of Dury Ghosts run with the new card installed?

P.P.S Would I get better gaming performance if I bought a secound HD4870 and linked them with crossfire than I will with just the HD6570

You CAN, but you have to use a very old driver set so it is decidedly not worth doing. Don't know WHY you bought a HD 6570 considering it has HALF the power of a 4870. As for CoD Ghosts, maybe on a low resolution with low details and a prayer or two.

Just checked the comparisons  I naturally thought that 6570 with the 2 gb and having a higher number would be a better card.

Would have 2 X 4870's in crossfire config. been better

Considering the 4870 is a legacy card? No. The best value right now is the Radeon R9 270 (non x). $199.99 for custom cooled versions, and over twice the power of a 4870. I'm guessing you will game at 1280x1024 or 1600x1200 since you were using the 4870? If you are aiming for 1920x1080 you might want to go with the 270X.

Thanks guys, since trolling through cyber space I have found out alot about how the various Radeon cards are graded. Here's a good site to quickly compare. http://www.hwcompare.com/

I do mainly photo editing with PS but when I do game I really like to get the best I can. It might be best to go down the x2 card route then.......sell the other on ebay
